| Description | CloneOX-42recognisestheratequivalentofhumanCD11bandsharesacommonepitopewithCB11c(integrinaphaMandalphaXchains).(PMID:1672643;TamataniTetal1991).CD11bis asingle-passtypeImembraneproteinthatbelongstotheintegrinalphachainfamily.CD11bispredominantlyexpressedinmonocytesandgranulocytesandisimplicatedinvariousadhesiveinteractionsofmonocytes,macrophagesandgranulocytesaswellasinmediatingtheuptakeofcomplement-coatedparticles(Ref:SWISSPROT).CD11bisalsofrequentlyusedasamicroglialMarkerallowingtodistinguishbetweenquiescentandactivatedmicrogliabasedontheintensityofCD11bstaining.MoreovertheOX-42monoclonalantibodyspecificallybindstotheCR3complement(C3bi)receptorfoundonmostmonocytes,granulocytes,macrophages,dendriticcells,andmicroglia.OX-42antibodyinhibitsC3bibindingactivity. CD11b,alsoknownasintegrinalphaMorMac-1,andisacomponentofcomplementreceptor3(CR3).CD11c,alsoknownasintegrinalphaX,andisacomponentofcomplementreceptor4(CR4).Integrinalpha-X/beta-2isareceptorforfibrinogen.CD11bandCD11careexpressedonimmunecellssuchasmacrophages,monocytes,granulocytes,anddendriticcells.OX42hasalsobeenshowntodetectmicrogliainthebrain,aswellascellsoftheliverandepidermis. |
