Description	TheoligomericformofAmyloidBetapeptide(Aβ,1-42)hasbeencloselylinkedtoAlzheimersDisease.SeveralELISAstargetingAβhavebeendeveloped;however,theseELISAsareknowntocross-reactwithAmyloidBetaprecursorprotein(APP)andarepoorlycharacterizedagainstmonomericandoligomericformsofthepeptide.TheBiosensisMOAB-2antibody,developedbyLaDuandco-workers(YoumansK.etal.,2012),hasbeenshowntospecificallydetectAβ,butnottheprecursormoleculeAPP.WhenutilizedinELISAs,theoligomericformofAβpeptide(o-Aβ)canbeassayedindependentlyoftheotherformsofthemoleculewhenassayedwiththeMOAB-2monoclonalantibody. TheBiosensisoligomericAβELISAkitisasandwichELISAthatallowsthepreferentialquantificationofoligomericAβpeptides.ThiskitisexclusivetoBiosensisandconsistsofapre-coatedmousemonoclonalanti-Aβcaptureantibody(MOAB-2),abiotinylatedMOAB-2detectionantibodyandhorserADIshperoxidase(HRP)-conjugatedstreptavidin.Theadditionofasubstrate(3,3,5,5-tetramethylbenzidine,TMB)yieldsacoloredreactionproductwhichisdirectlyproportionaltotheconcentrationofo-Aβpresentinsamplesandproteinstandards.ThepurposeofthiskitistheinvitroqualitativemeasurementofoligomericAβpeptidelevelsinbrainextractsandCSFsamplesfrombothtransgenicmiceandhumansrelativetoaknowno-Aβstandard.Theinclusionofahighlyvalidatedoligomericstandardresultsinaunique,ready-to-useELISAkit. Thiskithasbeenconfiguredforresearchuseonlyandisnottobeusedindiagnosticorclinicalprocedures.
